Durham Central Park Cohousing Community

Envisioning a new model of urban neighborhood

The Durham Central Park Cohousing Community is a group of individuals, couples and families creating an urban, green, intentional cooperative housing community in downtown Durham, North Carolina.

We are located within easy walking distance of the Farmers' Market, the library, the YMCA, restaurants, stores, county senior center, parks, performing arts center, and theaters and we’re only a couple of miles from Duke University campus and its famous Medical Center. We are building a multi-story building of 25 urban condominiums, designed for aging in place, ready for occupancy in late 2013 with units of 875-1475 sq ft with access to common dining room, kitchen, great room, meeting rooms, guest bedrooms, gardens, and rooftop patio. We are targeting a 1175 sq ft unit with a balcony, covered parking for one car, and 50 sq ft storage space for around $300,000.

Design of our building is now underway, and we're looking forward to the input of our future neighbors. Please contact us if you'd like more information about joining us.
This video was made by Erica during our celebration of the purchase of our lot last January. Watch and listen to Doug, Amy, Ellen, Joyce, and Rick explain why they're excited about our community in downtown Durham.
